This week guest Carlos Lazo of Building Bridges joins Teri Mattson to talk about his 3,000 mile cycling trip from Seattle to Washington DC. As a Cuban-American, Carlos and several family members rode across the United States to bring awareness of the need to restore trade and diplomatic relations between the two countries including lifting the 60 year embargo. Pierre Labossier of Haiti Action Committee joins the program for the second half hour for a brief discussion on Haitian history and its importance for democracy throughout the hemisphere including the end of neo-colonialism/neoliberalism. We also discuss the expansion of UNIFA (University of the Foundation Aristide) into a teaching hospital as a response to COVID-19.
