Ulysses S. Grant, who fought in major battles in the U.S.-Mexican War in the 1850s later considered it "one of the most unjust wars ever waged" due to his personal belief that the US had no legitimate claim on Mexican territory. And we grabbed it anyway. Here we are 170 years later, still an aggressive menace to the world (with only 2 possible military exceptions where we checked an even bigger military menace)? Too much and never enough?
