This week we stood in solidarity with the people of Peru, Palestine, Venezuela, Cuba and all those who call for peace and negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
We protested the egregious human rights violations committed by Dina Boluarte’s government outside of the Peruvian Embassy in D.C, we wrote letters to Alex Saub as part of our solidarity campaign with Venezuela, we petitioned the U.S. government to rescind its support for Israel in order to put pressure on its government to comply with international law and stop its violation of Palestinian human rights, we delivered more humanitarian aid to the people of Cuba, and we educated folks in Chapel Hill about the geopolitics that led up to the Russia-Ukraine War.

THIS WEEK WE PROTESTED:
“Our request is that foreign countries not interfere in our affairs and for U.S. citizens to show your solidarity with the people of Peru who are being criminalized and killed for organizing against the repressive illegitimate Boluarte government” Patricia Carvajal- member of PEX no al golpe & Micaela Peru
On Friday, CODEPINK PEX no al golpe, PEX al lado del Corazon, PSL, and ANSWER Coalition held a protest and press conference outside the Peruvian Embassy in Washington D.C. We call on the U.S. government to denounce Boluarte’s actions and stop enabling the brutal repression by cutting off all military aid and security assistance to Peru. We echo the demands of Peruvians demanding that 1) President Castillo be released from prison, 2) the resignation of Dina Boluarte, 3) the closing of the congress, and 4) the creation of a new constitution to replace the current one, which was issued under the Fujimori dictatorship.
THIS WEEK WE WROTE LETTERS:
Ambassador Saab is being punished for helping the Venezuelan government build housing, obtain food and strike trade deals in the context of a brutal economic war. He is a diplomat yet instead the United States is holding him as a political prisoner.
On Tuesday, we participated in a letter writing campaign to Alex to show our support and remind him that we are fighting for his freedom.
THIS WEEK WE PETITIONED:
Tell President Biden to hold military contractors accountable for climate change: Oh, honey...Do you even have to ask?
Tell your members of Congress to oppose the tanks and more weapons for Ukraine because there is no military solution: Tanks? No Thanks!
Tell the State Department: Relations with Israel don't help Palestinians: Pro Apartheid?
Tell the U.S. to cancel the F-35 fighter jet program: Bad News
Tell Biden we need a Cuba policy based on engagement, not confrontation: What’s the holdup? - CODEPINK
THIS WEEK WE DELIVERED:
Alongside our friends at Bridges of Love, we left for Cuba on Friday to deliver powdered milk and Tylenol to children's hospitals in Cuba. The immoral and unnecessary U.S. blockade against Cuba makes it difficult for the country to procure certain items. The blockade must end! But until then, we will continue to make humanitarian missions to our friends in Cuba.
THIS WEEK WE EDUCATED:
Medea Benjamin is currently on tour with War In Ukraine: Making Sense of a Senseless Conflict, a book she co-authored with Nicolas J.S. Davies. She was in North Carolina last week. We released her stop at Chapel Hill on YouTube this week. You can watch it here:
You can continue the solidarity by sharing our work and joining us at an event near you!
Peace and solidarity,
The CODEPINK Team
